Insomniac turns Las Vegas into a 12‑day rave: this will be the longest EDC in history
EDC is no longer a festival. It's an occupation.
Less than a week from its 30th anniversary, Insomniac has announced what many feared and others celebrated: EDC Las Vegas 2027 expands to a full 12 days. From May 13 to 24, 2027, under the concept “Dusk Till Dawn”, the event will no longer be confined to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and will spill across the entire city.
And no, it's not simply bigger. It's intentionally smaller and longer.
The format: Two festivals, same production
The core of the new format is two independent weekends with identical production and lineup:
- EDC Dusk: May 14, 15 and 16
- EDC Dawn: May 21, 22 and 23
You can choose one or the other. Or stay for all 12 days. According to Pasquale Rotella, founder of Insomniac, the split into two weekends aims to reduce capacity, give more space on the floor, and lower prices to levels from a decade ago. A move that sounds like a direct response to the massification of recent years.
What happens between one weekend and the other? The city is the festival
Here's what's interesting for culture, not just for the mainstage.
Insomniac has presented the program 12 Days of EDC, which includes:
World Party Parade: The free, all‑ages parade returns, celebrating dance culture. A political statement in a privatized city.
Almost illegal pop‑ups: Parties in warehouses, clubs, galleries, landmarks and unconventional spaces. Opening parties on the weekend and after‑parties on Monday morning.
12‑day Camp EDC: For the first time you can camp for 12 consecutive days at the Speedway. Between weekends there will be wellness, workshops, live painting, art, arcade, Vendor Village and nighttime parties just for campers.
Hotel EDC: At Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, with pool parties, after‑parties, wellness, beauty services, the Insomniac Concept Store and the Map Point Summit, its industry summit.
EDC 2027 is no longer about going to see your favorite DJ. It's about not leaving Las Vegas. Anticlub will be there to see if the culture survives the expansion.
Question for the community: Do you prefer a massive 3‑day EDC or 12 days with fewer people?
