Alone at the Top: Charlotte de Witte Breaks into the DJ Mag 2026 Top 10
Out of 10 names, only one is a woman. And she's techno.
Charlotte de Witte has just reached the No. 6 spot on the DJ Mag 2026 Top 100 DJs list, becoming the only woman present in this year's Top 10. In a list topped by David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and Anyma, the Belgian star is the exception that proves the rule, and she is absolutely crushing it.
The fact stings and celebrates all at once. It's historic, but it's also a reminder of how unequal the industry remains.
From No. 74 to No. 6 Without Selling Out the Underground
What makes this achievement massive is the HOW. Charlotte didn't reach the Top 6 by making commercial EDM. She got there with pure, fast, and dark techno.
Back in 2019, she was ranked 74th. Seven years later, she is ahead of Armin van Buuren, FISHER, and Timmy Trumpet. No ghost producers, no pop hits. Armed with KNTXT as her trench and a sound that doesn't ask for permission.
DJ Mag had to award her the title that is already rightfully hers once again: World's No. 1 Techno DJ for the 7th consecutive year.
2026: The Year of The Resistance
While other DJs live for rankings, de Witte built a universe. This year she introduced The Resistance, an audiovisual live show that is not just another party, but a political statement on rave culture. It debuted in Ibiza, packed Rock Werchter with 40,000 souls, and became a charity EP for the Nighttime Foundation.
With releases like "Amor" and "Malina," Charlotte proves that female-led techno doesn't just exist—it dominates.
Her being the only woman in the Top 10 in 2026 is not just her victory. It's a victory for all.
